John Stossel's "Bailouts and Bull"

After yesterday’s lamentation about needing to rebuild a broad pro-market coalition, here’s a note of hope: a new one-hour special tonight (10pm Eastern) on ABC from my old boss, John Stossel, called Bailouts and Bull, based on pieces from, and co-hosted by Drew Carey.

The working title, noted on weeks ago without any coyness or editing, really was Bullshit in America, later changed to Bull$#!+ in America (or something like that), and now this. But again, by any label: liberty!

Will it be an even more libertarian hour of television than 2001’s John Stossel Goes to Washington?? Tune in and find out.

This mass e-mail from the president of the Reason Foundation contains a link to a teaser from the aforementioned really big shoe:

Please tune in to ABC News Friday night to watch Drew Carey and on John Stossel’s new 20/20 special, “Bailouts and Bull.” During this hour-long special, which was inspired by’s Drew Carey Project, Drew and John will discuss the bailout fiasco, medical marijuana, universal preschool, toll roads, and the myth of the struggling middle class. You can watch a really great preview of “Bailouts and Bull” here:

20/20 is on Friday night, March 13 at 10 p.m. ET, but please check your local listings for exact times. You won’t want to miss this!
