Serenity Now! Yes!

As if it weren’t sexy enough that (1) Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer character is idolized by third-wave feminists and (2) his upcoming series Dollhouse features some sort of genetically-engineered amnesiac hot-chick secret agents, it appears that (3) some former cast members of the (absolutely fantastic and tragically short-lived) sci-fi series he did in between those two, Firefly (which became the film Serenity), are appearing in a mysterious project with porn actors.

Sadly, from my selfish perspective, the Firefly cast members in question are all male (as opposed, alas, to the beautiful — and already conveniently pornily-named — Summer Glau, Jewel Staite, Gina Torres, and Morena Baccarin). I suppose fans of Alan Tudyk, like Meredith Kapushion, will be delighted, though — especially in the shocking event that he lives up to his name.

I guess I’ll just have to stick to watching sci-fi. On the other hand, my friends who co-founded CuddleParty.com apparently know Gina Torres. Hmmm…

That’s not just a project with FIREFLY stars and porn stars; it’s a project from a writer/director who’s made lots of conservative films.

With ties to Troma, Scooby-Doo, and Zack Snyder’s updated Romero-zombies as well, I see. Intriguing.

Whaddayamean, “as well”? One of the Troma movies and Zack Snyder’s updated Romero zombies ARE the conservative films — along with SLITHER, which had the same leading man as FIREFLY, who is also in this new project with porn stars. Maybe I should start writing a blog about this stuff…

OMG!!!!! I am in love with this idea. Not only do I loves the Tudyk (anyone interested in gratuitous Tudyk-booty should be sure to see Death at a Funeral), but I also became a James Gunn fan after seeing Slither. He is also the guy behind an overlooked gem called “Lollilove” which stars Gunn and his real-life wife. Lollilove is about a couple in LA who decide that what the homeless need most is lollipops with original inspirational art wrappers. It’s awesome. He also did a fun superhero spoof called “the Specials” which was completed ignored as it was overshadowed by Mystery Men which came out about the same time. Of his Troma stuff, I’ve only seen Tromeo and Juliet, so I can’t really get excited about any of that. But I would definitely recommend Slither for anyone who enjoys fun, campy horror movie (not the torture-porn of recent years), The Specials for nerds of all ages, and Lollilove for all you cynical bastards out there. I very much enjoyed them all. I think the Firefly porn and the addition of Gunn can only lead to more awesome. I think you just made my year….

Hey, my friend Janet Harvey was an extra in _Tromeo and Juliet_! Small world. Small, cozy, beautiful world.

And you’ll find more such art at http://RightWingTrash.com .
